Hello and welcome to my review of the Horizon Hobby Sport Cub S RTF RC Airplane
If this is the first time that you have read a review from me thank you for choosing my website. I research plenty of information on the web for my reviews to provide an informed and unbiased opinion of a product. I have been dabbling in electronics and RC for over twenty years.
The Horizon Hobby Sport Cub S is an electric powered RC airplane made from durable foam. The plane is Ready To Fly (RTF) and comes with everything required to get you started. The aircraft is a micro RC plane with different flight modes for the beginner, intermediate and advanced flyer.
Horizon Hobby Sport Cub S At A Glance
Good: Flys well in breezy conditions, panic button helps correct unintentional aerobatic maneuvers
Not So Good: Electric motor isn’t brushless which reduces power and will wear out quicker than a brushless motor.
Overall Take: The Horizon Hobby Sport Cub S is a solid micro RC plane that beginners of all ages will appreciate. Just be aware that motor isn’t brushless but shouldn’t be a major concern.

Flying The Horizon Hobby Sport Cub S
The Sport Cub S is an excellent aircraft for the novice flyer looking to fly fixed-wing aircraft. The plane has a camera cable attached so is ready to go for FPV flying if you have a camera to mount. The stabilization features of the plane help it to fly level in breezy conditions and if you don’t like all the “co-pilot” features you can simply switch to a more advanced flight mode. If you find yourself stuck int rouble a quick press of the panic button will get your aircraft back into level flight. Be warned though if your plane is inverted the panic mode can drop your plane from the sky. The plane is constructed from durable foam and can take quite a beating.
The beginner’s mode makes this plane simple and safe to fly for someone with no experience with RC planes. Once the plane is one of the more advanced modes you can start to do some aerobatic maneuvers. In Advanced mode, you can do inside and outside loops, fly inverted, do barrel rolls, etc. When things start to go south, flip the switch down to SAFE mode or pull the red trigger, and the plane INSTANTLY returns to straight and level flight. The plane is capable of flying in a light breeze but like most planes in the micro class flying in more breezy conditions will cause trouble.
